Yamaha F200 GreyHELM MASTER COMPATIBLE

Helm Master is a fully integrated boat control system that allows captains of large offshore boats to truly master their boating experience. This system is now available in Canada through select OEMs on new boat packages equipped with Yamaha Digital Electronic Control models from 150hp to 450hp.

Yamaha F200 GreyIntegrated Steering

Yamaha F200 GreyYamaha’s TotalTilt® Feature

Designed for faster, easier engine tilting, TotalTilt® allows complete tilt up from any position with a simple double push of the “UP” trim/tilt button or full tilt down (to bottom of tilt range) with a double push of the “DOWN” trim/tilt button. For safety, a warning horn will sound just before and during these operations. The operator can stop movement and the horn anywhere in between by pressing the tilt button again.

Yamaha F200 GreyACCELERATION

The F200 is equipped with Yamaha's (VCT) Variable Camshaft Timing System, which helps deliver quick acceleration and an increase in torque in the 2,000 to 3,500 rpm range.

features and benefits

LightWeight & Compact

The F200 is the lightest 200-hp four stroke available. It is up to 119 lbs lighter than Yamaha's V6 F200. It weighs just 14 pounds more than Yamaha's two-stroke 200 HPDI outboard.

Acceleration

Like its Yamaha V6 Offshore siblings, the four-cylinder F200 is equipped with Yamaha's (VCT) Variable Camshaft Timing System, which helps the outboard deliver quick acceleration and a strong midrange punch.

Powerful

The 2.8-litre, 16-valve DOHC powerhead breathes easy and responds quickly. Its valve train design is sophisticated, yet proven by millions of hours of use. The F200 has the most favourable power-to-weight ratio of any four-stroke 200-hp outboard.

Efficiency

It's normally aspirated for less complexity and better fuel economy. Some competitor's outboards require 92 octane fuel to develop 200 hp. The F200 runs best on 89 octane.

Versatile

The F200 is now available with either digital electronic control in both 20- and 25-inch shaft. That means, the F200 is just right for so many different kinds of boats: centre consoles, pontoons, sport boats, bay and flats boats, deep V aluminum, and fish & ski, just to name a few.

Better Charging

A powerful 50-amp alternator offers a 13 percent increase in charging power compared to Yamaha's V6 F200.

Better Fishing

The F200 has popular features such as Yamaha's Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS®).

Control

Models are available with either digital electronic control or mechanical control. Models with digital electronic control are compatible with Yamaha Command Link Plus®, rigging system and hardware for the utmost in control. All F200 models can be rigged to external NME A 2000® compatible displays or analog gauges using a gateway device. Both versions of the outboard are Y-COP® compatible.

Quiet

Yamaha's SDSTM (Shift Dampener System) propeller hardware comes standard with the F200 for smoother, quieter, no clunk shifting. In addition, the outboard employs counterbalance shafts for vibration-free, quite running.

Yamaha Reliability

Based on proven Yamaha four-stroke, marine-specific architecture and years of solid performance.

Buyer’s Guide to Boats and Pontoons

Boats

When you think about it, buying a boat is a little bit like getting married. After all, this is the commitment of a lifetime, and you want to feel confident you’re making the right decision! Fortunately, there are plenty of fish in the sea, and plenty of boats and pontoons to choose from here at Howell’s Marine Sales & Service. The following tips can help you narrow down the options and find your perfect match!

Choosing a Boat

What kinds of activities are you interested in? This should be your guiding question when choosing a boat. If catching fish is on the agenda, you should seek out a fishing boat, with features such as rod holders and livewells. If you want to pursue the excitement of watersports, you should look for a boat with a powerful engine that can reach high speeds. Meanwhile, if you are looking to host parties on the water, a spacious luxury boat will serve you best.

That being said, there’s no need to limit yourself. There are some boats that can cover all your bases! Pontoon boats, for example, are incredibly versatile. We are passionate about pontoon boats here at Howell’s Marine Sales & Service, and we recommend them to our customers who want to get a little bit of everything out of their boating experience.

Budgeting for a Boat

Of course, you can’t talk about buying a boat without discussing all the costs involved! The upfront cost of purchasing a boat can be pretty steep, but the long-term costs are even more important to consider. When budgeting for a boat, remember to account for all the expenses that are going to add up over time – such as fuel, maintenance, and insurance.

Generally speaking, it’s a good idea to set aside at least 10% of your boat’s total value each year for routine maintenance, and another 5% for any unexpected repairs. Meanwhile, you can expect to pay about 1.5% of the total value of your boat annually for insurance coverage.

If you have any questions about the boat buying process, you are always welcome to consult the sales team here at Howell’s Marine Sales & Service! We are always happy to assist. You can find us in Chatham, ON, near London.
