Overview

‘V’ IS FOR VERSATILITY

When ample work, play, and fishing space is essential to your days on the water, the Hewescraft ProV is the perfect platform. The ProV features a forward-justified console design that provides more than 85 square feet of cockpit space. The ProV’s available extended transom provides even more space by keeping your outboard engine completely outside the full gunwale-height enclosed transom, so your trimmed-up engine will never crowd you again. When you want to spread out, relax, and fish rather than trip over your gear and your crew, the roomy Hewescraft ProV is essential.

You know what you’re up against. Whether its a windy day on the lake, a rough morning on the river, or a calm afternoon on the coast, the ProV is the boat to beat. It rewrites the rules for versatility (and blows the competition out of the water) by taking design cues from our most popular fresh and saltwater models. We start with our popular Sportsman silhouette, then we widen the hull, deepen the V, and shore up the stern with an optional full-width, extended transom made popular on our big-water Sea Runner and Ocean Pro models.

We took our best-selling Sportsman model and gave it more: more fishing space than other boats in its class, more stability to ensure your crew’s safety, more fuel capacity to keep you going, and more hull strength for days when Mother Nature gets mean. Plus, it features a long-awaited extended transom option to keep the gunnels high, and the engine out of the fishing cockpit area and out of your way. But that’s not all. Our fully-welded extended transom is longer and twice as wide as our competitors’, so you get more lateral stability, a longer-running surface, and better planing. At this point, we don’t have competitors—we have a whole new class of boat.

Your Guide to Buying a Used Boat

Boats

Embarking on the journey to purchase a used boat can be both thrilling and daunting. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or a beginner, selecting the right vessel involves careful consideration. Understanding key factors such as condition, type, and purpose will ensure you make an informed decision while looking for affordable used boats for sale.

Inspecting the Condition: Ensuring Smooth Sailing

When choosing a used boat, the condition is paramount. A thorough inspection can save future headaches and costs. Look for signs of wear and tear on the hull, check for water damage, and examine the engine's health. Particular attention should be paid to:

  • Hull Integrity: Any visible cracks or repairs can indicate past issues.
  • Engine Performance: Reliable power is crucial; test run if possible.
  • Deck and Interior Condition: Inspect for rot or mold in wood fixtures.

By reviewing these elements, you can protect your investment against future problems.

Boat Type: Match with Your Lifestyle

Different types of boats cater to various activities. Consider what you intend to do most with your boat—fishing, leisurely cruises, or water sports—and select accordingly. Opting for the right type ensures efficient performance:

  • Fishing Boats: Equipped with rod holders and ample storage space.
  • Pontoon Boats: Ideal for entertaining guests due to spacious decks.
  • Bowriders: Perfect for families who enjoy speed and maneuverability.

Matching the pre-owned boat type with intended use maximizes your enjoyment on the water.

Ensuring Value: Features Worth Considering

Buying a used boat offers unique opportunities to secure great value without breaking the bank. Ensure your pick includes features that enhance your boating experience:

  • Safety Equipment: Life jackets and fire extinguishers are essential.
  • Navigation Systems: GPS or sonar systems aid in safe travel.
  • Comfort Features: Seating capacity and cover options increase satisfaction during outings.

Prioritize features that align with your priorities for fun and safe adventures.
