Bolstered by the fist-pumping power of a 250-horsepower rating, a huge interior with massive decks and storages, and a high performance step pad hull that dominates both big and shallow water, this is the AVX2085s. The beam-forward design is precision tuned to target whatever you’re chasing... whether it’s bass, crappie, walleye, musky, or just a well-deserved escape with family and friends. Below the rub rail, the tournament-engineered V2 hull includes computer-modeled lifting strakes, integrated spray rails, and a 44-gallon fuel tank on the center line. It’s a powerful combination geared for an extremely smooth, dry ride as well as responsive handling and lightning fast hole shots. Further equipped with stretch-formed gunnels, Trac-tight™ handling, and the added good looks of fiberglass-infused parts, this advanced aluminum rig is built to rout rough water while keeping comfort and convenience, front and center. Handcrafted to maximize space, the innovative layout is also packed with standard features. The wide-open floor plan enjoys a spacious 96” beam and overall boat length of 20’ 8”. Combined with a huge front deck, there’s an enormous amount of room for multiple anglers and 3-across seat bases. Not only is it a platform with tremendous stability but it’s also loaded with lockable storage. Deck compartments include the added peace of mind from our Dri-Max™ system of rapid water evacuation. The design is reinforced with raised moisture barriers, weather trim seals, compression locks, and integrated channels to funnel water away from openings and out of the boat. Elsewhere, the bow station is armed with a recessed foot pedal mount along with cup and tool holders, NAV light and trim switches, and room for 10-inch flush mounted or 12-inch stacked electronics. Throughout the 2085s, rod and gear storage rules. While the port box is geared for rods up to 8 ½ feet in length, the center stow is sized for sticks as long as 9 ½ feet! Plus, both sides of the front deck include retractable straps with slots between the console and gunnel for rods. There’s even more rod room alongside the portside passenger seating. Just in front of the driver’s console, the starboard box is ideal for a variety of gear, and it’s equipped with a divider leaving plenty of space for 3700-sized boxes. Making the most of the entire floorplan, the step between the consoles incorporates both tool holders and a compartment that’s well suited for smaller things like cull buoys, extra line, wallets, keys, snacks, and a host of other gear you like to keep close. The driver’s station is packed with features while the forward seats are also mounted on swivels and slides to maximize comfort, convenience, and flexibility. Speed, tach, fuel, trim, and water pressure instrumentation are positioned for easy visibility and the spacious dash accepts up to 12-inch, flush mounted electronics. Just starboard of the driver are a host of switch controls as well as USB and 12V power outlets, cupholders and another small tray for compact items like a cell phone, sunscreen, and other necessities. An oversized glovebox, cupholders, and more storage under the console are highlights of the forward passenger area. The cushioned polyethylene cockpit floor is not only great-looking, but it dries quickly and is skid-resistant. The cool-to-the-touch design is cushioned for all-day comfort. Looking aft, a pair of jump seats cover insulated compartments that are ideal for storage or truly impressive coolers. When folded down, the seats add even more space to the rear deck. In between the fold-downs, the insulated, fiberglass livewell is equipped with recirculating aeration, an anti-splash ring, removable divider, and pump-out. Looking further aft, the rear power compartment is equally spacious with room for four batteries, a multi-bank charger, master power switch, our Vexus® View 8-gauge inline harness, and easy access to plumbing and pumps. You’ll also find a long wish list of standard features on the matching tandem trailer. It’s customized with our reinforced 4-inch channel steel frame, Victor Shield™ protective coating, LED lighting, disc brakes on both axles, a swing tongue, hybrid oil hubs, custom Vexus® aluminum wheels, fitted bunks, load guides, transom tie-downs, spare tire, multiple side steps, and an available bow step. Stainless Pull-Up Tie CleatsStop breaking rods and tearing clothing. Our stainless-steel pull-up cleats stay out of the way until they're needed. |
Oversized Pedestal BasesOthers use a ¾” diameter base to hold the fishing seats in place. We believe in going a step farther. Our 1.77” diameter base is stronger and will last longer. |
Raised Lips, Compression Lid Locks, and Oversized Seals for Lid OpeningsOne key to providing drier storage is to help ensure the lid completely seals. We accomplish this by using a raised lip and compression lock that pulls the lid tight against the oversized rubber seal. Quickly evacuating the water is critical to keeping your gear dry. |
VECTOR FORCE™ TRANSOMOur Vector Force Transom is constructed of .125” aluminum and reinforced with 60% more material than the industry standard. The transom is the very foundation of the boat structure and at Vexus we're focused on ensuring anglers can outfit their rig with today's setback plates and shallow water anchors. Many others not only don't offer these options, but installing them actually voids the warranty. |
Hard Case™ Paint with Clearcoat ProtectionThis new-era, color armor is unrivaled; setting the highest standards for durability, shine, strength, and worry-free maintenance. Plus, it’s a hands-down winner in chemical, gas, scratch, impact, and even salt spray resistance tests. Bow to stern, this performance-proven process means your rig is built to turn heads on and off the water. |
Wood-Free DesignKnowing that your AVX doesn't rely on any type of wood reinforcement is more than comforting. It's Wood-Free Confidence that translates into worry-free outings. Now, you can leave the regret of corner-cutting composites and squeaky, rotten plywood far behind. |

When you think about it, buying a boat is a little bit like getting married. After all, this is the commitment of a lifetime, and you want to feel confident you’re making the right decision! Fortunately, there are plenty of fish in the sea, and plenty of boats and pontoons to choose from here at Howell’s Marine Sales & Service. The following tips can help you narrow down the options and find your perfect match!
What kinds of activities are you interested in? This should be your guiding question when choosing a boat. If catching fish is on the agenda, you should seek out a fishing boat, with features such as rod holders and livewells. If you want to pursue the excitement of watersports, you should look for a boat with a powerful engine that can reach high speeds. Meanwhile, if you are looking to host parties on the water, a spacious luxury boat will serve you best.
That being said, there’s no need to limit yourself. There are some boats that can cover all your bases! Pontoon boats, for example, are incredibly versatile. We are passionate about pontoon boats here at Howell’s Marine Sales & Service, and we recommend them to our customers who want to get a little bit of everything out of their boating experience.
Of course, you can’t talk about buying a boat without discussing all the costs involved! The upfront cost of purchasing a boat can be pretty steep, but the long-term costs are even more important to consider. When budgeting for a boat, remember to account for all the expenses that are going to add up over time – such as fuel, maintenance, and insurance.
Generally speaking, it’s a good idea to set aside at least 10% of your boat’s total value each year for routine maintenance, and another 5% for any unexpected repairs. Meanwhile, you can expect to pay about 1.5% of the total value of your boat annually for insurance coverage.
If you have any questions about the boat buying process, you are always welcome to consult the sales team here at Howell’s Marine Sales & Service! We are always happy to assist. You can find us in Chatham, ON, near London.
